2005 NFL Rookie of Year
Retraction
By: Jason Cunningham
July 28, 2005
Already, I have started the 2005 NFL season on a
sour note. Today, I must retract my choice of who will be this year's
offensive rookie of the year. My original choice of Miami Dolphins' running back
Ronnie Brown is no longer a favorite, and a definite long shot at best. Thanks
to Ricky Williams, who missed the entire 2004 NFL season, the rookie Brown will
be seeing the bench after the fourth regular season game.
I now must turn to Chicago Bears' running back
Cedric Benson as my choice of rookie of the year. Yes, he may be a head case,
but he is a great talent, and no if this does not work out, I will not
jump on the Cleveland Browns' wide receiver Braylon Edwards bandwagon.
Benson was ranked by me as the best running back in the draft by me. So there
you have it sports fan, a true retraction set in stone before the season starts.
