In most of our lifetimes, we will have to get a job, save money, pay our debts, including credit card and car payments and file our taxes on a yearly basis. In some way, our lives revolve around money. However, some individuals may become slaves to their money, and this can be an unfortunate way to exist.

The Cost of Living

While most of us cannot wait to get out of our parents’ house, there are enormous costs associated with living on your own. From rent payments to keeping enough gasoline in your car, it costs a lot of money to be considered an independent adult. Most of us are depended on our bi-weekly paychecks to cover our bills. If you desire a higher standard of living (the ability to spend more money), then you will need to earn more money, in order to cover these expenses and increase your savings.

How Much Do You Need?

Some individuals never get enough money. If they could, they would sleep at their job, so that they would be able to work sixteen hours a day. This may be their only way to get out of debt or support their families. On the other hand, some people are consumed with making money. It is the most important activity in their lives. Unfortunately, you can cause long term damage to your personal health if you do not get enough rest. It may take years for the damage to manifest itself; however, the damage could prove to be fatal. Therefore, it is important not to be a slave to your money.
