During the holiday season, people often buy gifts for their
loved ones. Unfortunately, financial
obligations may stand in the way of them buying everything on their wish
list. In these tough economic
times, people need not drag themselves
into more debt by attempting to make everyone happy during the holiday season.
Stop blaming yourself during the Holidays!
Everyone does not have $2,000 to spend on holiday
gifts. In recent months, you may have
had some unexpected medical bills. Your
job may have cut your hours. Everyone has a different story, but filling
your holidays with thoughts of despair because of your financial bind will not
turn you into a joy to be around during the holidays.
Create a Holiday budget that you can live with!
Instead, focus on your current budget. Pay
your bills first, even if those bills are not due until January 1st. Keep a specific amount of money in your
checking and savings account in case of emergency. Next, do not panic you cannot afford
everything you wish to buy. If people
really love you, then they will eventually understand that you do not wish to
pull out a credit card to buy presents. Remember, take only the amount out of your
banking account that you have committed to spending during the holidays. Therefore, do not be tempted to use your
debit or credit card while in the store to purchase additional items, which you
have not included in your budget.
