The Politics of Health Insurance

In America, there are 46 million citizens without health insurance. This is a trend that does not seem to be reversing itself. While politicians speak of doing something, little is being done to establish an universal health insurance system.
People argue about the outrageous costs of healthcare in America. In most instances, these costs can be linked to the treatment of chronic illness. Some of these diseases can be prevented or controlled by early detection; but; more importantly, people would do themselves a favor by seeing a doctor at least once a year. The lives of some Americans are more difficult than we think. Therefore, why are some individuals making minimum wage forced to choose between putting food on the table and going to the doctor? This scenario should get Congress to establish an universal health insurance program for those not covered by individual or group health insurance.
Some people are afraid of the U.S. Government making changes to our health insurance industry. On the other hand, we should be more concern with providing individuals and children that do not qualify for Medicaid with access to minimum standards of healthcare. If nothing is done, healthcare costs will continue to rise, as a result of increases in the number of chronic illnesses among those without health increase. You cannot value those that make minimum wage for doing the job and not provide them with health insurance coverage. It is wrong to rob their families of this need, and it puts a strain on the healthcare system.
The universal health insurance should be offered to all working Americans without individual and group health insurance and children that do not qualify for Medicaid. On a monthly basis, all physicians should be mandated to accept a number of Medicaid and universal health insurance system participants. In order to pay for the universal health insurance system, we should raise federal taxes.
Otherwise, if we continue to do nothing, the rise in healthcare costs will trickle down to your health insurance premiums. You decide what is best for the country!
