In the past year, the U.S. consumer has struggled with higher energy costs, gasoline prices near or above $3.00 a gallon, and a tightening of credit requirements, in order to qualify for a loan.

Many Americans began the New Year with anything but a smile on their face. Long before the Christmas Holiday, fellow citizens were crying about the lack of money in their bank accounts because of various reasons. Now in 2008, The President and Congress are ready to give Americans a tax break. However, is it too late for any of this money to reach the retail stores, as opposed to the bill collectors that are currently hounding many of us?

Under President Bush's leadership, the United States invaded Iraq in 2003. Since, the Iraqi people have held free elections and ended the bloody regimen of former President Saddam Hussein. Unfortunately, there is still no peace in Iraq.
