Do not Doubt Yourself in Business!

There are many success stories after failures.  Therefore, everyone is not immediately destined to leave college and to start a billion dollar corporation, like Bill Gates.  Some of us must struggle to find our niche in the business world, while losing jobs, sleep and patience throughout the process.  Do not be discouraged because you are learning something of value on each job, regardless of your responsibilities.

For a second, go back to your childhood. In grade school, your teachers had you do all sorts of things.  Sometimes you completed math problems, drew pictures, or read stories.  I mention these activities because your teachers were exposing you to many things, which led to many of your likes and dislikes of today.  As a result, most of us can remember when we fell in love with math, English, or something else.

While this may sound silly to some of you, take 20 - 30 minutes each month to write down your passions.  Sometimes, many of us can become so busy in the corporate world that we fail to reflect on what makes us happy.  In general, people are not happy employees unless they are passionate about what you do.  Happiness in the workplace can have a strong correlation with a worker's productivity.

Every person makes mistakes in the business world.  Some of you will choose the wrong career, even if you do years of research and complete several internships.  Others will be fired because of corporate restructuring.  Do not beat yourself up, if you are not a millionaire by age 30.

Destiny is calling you to be the next great architect, mortgage officer or barber.  However, you cannot allow doubts to keep you from achieving success.  A great opportunity may not be in your first choice of city.  In addition, your current or future job position may be a stepping stone to your dream position.  Once you find your passion, do not let anyone stand in your way.  Many current professional football coaches were once graduate assistants who made fewer salary dollars than some current part-time workers.  If you find your passion, the money will eventually come, but you need patience. You are in control of your work ethic and attention to detail.  One day, you might be the CEO of a billion dollar corporation, even if that goal is not realistic!  Never doubt your abilities.
