Why Google is the King of Search Engines?

If there is envy among the search engines, it is surely directed towards Google. Without the flash of MSN or Yahoo, Google has established itself as the number one search engine. But, people are attracted to its ease of use and attention to your search experience, instead of selling you on advertisements.

In my lifetime, Google is one of a handful of companies that delivers better results for the consumer (online visitors) than for its own benefit. Yes, the company makes a ton of money, but it is not at our expense, as online visitors. The search results for Google are not dominated by advertisements from other websites that wish to compete for visitors on a particular search term. Additionally, the search engine of Google is focused solely on helping you to find information and not attempting to get you to apply for a credit card or listen to some music. Therefore, Google’s search engine provides the greatest search experience of the major search engines.

While Google has a shopping area and news, these are links that do not standout. If you are interested only in the search results, you might not notice the shopping link at the top of the page. This is not the case if you visit Yahoo’s search engine, for the shopping experience is anchored along with the search results. It is harder not to notice the shopping and music advertisements of Yahoo.

Google is a powerful company. Unlike the search engines that it competes with, Google does not need to reinvent itself to keep its number one ranking. It is the standard that other search engines must follow. And as Google grows, it continues to be the frontrunner of search engine technology, whether it be indexing the most web pages, the introduction of sitemaps to webmasters or penalizing webmasters that buy or sell links, in an effort to increase their rankings in the searches.
