Often, people have mixed emotions after taking the
GMAT. Some people are elated because of
their score, while other are saddened because of their score.Regardless of your elation or sadness, you
need to do something productive after taking the GMAT.
Keep it simple
Honestly, you will probably be tired and hungry after your
test. A light lunch with a few glasses of water will
suffice. If you eat a hearty meal, you
will probably need a nap as soon as you get home; yes, I am speaking from
personal experience. A post-GMAT nap
may last for three to five hours, if you are not careful.
If you want to talk about the test, go for it! Talking to someone after a good or bad test
score may be therapeutic. To be honest,
I called my mom right after taking the GMAT.
Trust me; I did not violate the GMAT honor code by disclosing any
questions or answers to my mom, but I did tell my mom that the test was tough. There will be a GMAT question or two that
will cause you to scratch your head, unless you are destined for the GMAT “Hall
of Fame.”
Also, you can go to the movies after the test. This will be a perfect opportunity for you to
see the latest comedy or adventure film.
Enjoy the movie so that you can take your mind off the GMAT. You deserve some laughter and action after
sitting at the computer test center for 3 ½ hours!
But, do not go home and study GMAT materials. If you do so, you might drive yourself
crazy. The test is over. Even if you need to take the GMAT in the
future, take a few days off to recover from your current GMAT malaise.
You deserve some praise after you take the GMAT, regardless
of your score. It takes effort and
determination to complete the GMAT. It
was not an easy test for me. As a
result, I advise you to talk to someone or to have some fun after you take the
GMAT.
