Why you need to keep your GMAT goal visible?

We all have goals.  Some of us want to retire by age 40.  Some of our friends want to save money for a new house.  When it comes to the GMAT, many of us have a specific score that we wish to achieve.  Unfortunately, many of us never write our GMAT scoring goal on paper.

Think of the last time you went to the grocery store.  You probably had a list of items that you wished to purchase.  Why did you create a grocery list? It is possible that in the past you have been unable to remember every item on your list without writing it down.  On the other hand, you might write a list so that you do not buy items not on your list; in this particular case, the list keeps you focused on the big picture, and the list prevents you from spending more of your savings.  Do not worry; I am about to tie this analogy to the GMAT.  In my example, your GMAT scoring goal is your grocery list!  You need to see your GMAT scoring goal on a daily basis.  To be honest, I have my GMAT scoring goal in my drawer at work and above my computer at home.  Since I do a lot of studying online, it is good to see my GMAT scoring goal on a constant basis. Last week, I also placed my GMAT scoring goal above my bedroom TV so that my GMAT scoring goal is the first thing I see when I wake up in the morning and the last thing I see before I sleep at night.

For some people, attaching their goal to a piece of paper on the wall may seem silly.  However, there is a reason why many professional sport teams and public corporations post their organizational goals in visible areas!  These organizations want their employees to be reminded of these goals on a regular basis.  Furthermore, these organizations want these goals to be achieved.  Having my GMAT goals posted in front of me helps me to better concentrate on my GMAT homework.  Tonight, before you go to bed, put your GMAT scoring goal in a visible place.  I hope this tip helps you!
