My name is Jason Cunningham. Many of you know me as this website's owner. Yet, some of you may not know that I will take the GMAT this fall. Hopefully, I will only need to take the test once. While I have not set a date for my GMAT exam, I will definitely take the GMAT prior to November 2009 and, maybe as soon as September 2009.
I have a lot to do before taking the GMAT. In a week, I will take my first Accounting class since high school. Also, I will need to narrow my graduate business school applications down to 5 programs. I will not reveal the names of the graduate business schools because I do not want to hurt my admission chances. And I cannot forget that I must study for the GMAT.
I plan to summarize many of my daily experiences on this website until I receive my GMAT scores. I may miss a few days, but you will still understand my overall GMAT experience. Some people may think this journal is a waste of time. Why would a future b-school applicant risk the exposure? Are you worried that some b-school admission officials will see your online posts? My goal is not to make anyone upset with me, especially b-school admission officials. In my mind, this journal will help me to achieve a higher score on the GMAT. If anything, I hope the journal shows b-school officials how important my future GMAT score is to me.
On my personal business blog, http://www.jasoncunninghambusiness.blogspot.com/, I will be revealing my practice test scores, even if they are poor. There is no shame in the truth. You will also learn what study materials that I am using for GMAT preparation. Besides, the journal and blog are good ways to track my progress and my errors.
****Remember, I am not affiliated with the Graduate Management Admissions Council. Furthermore, I am not affiliated with any GMAT study guide company mentioned in any article.*****

Day 53 Countdown : GMAT Training -
Aug 20, 2009 - 4:20:24 AM
In my opinion, Data Sufficiency is the strangest form of math. In American classrooms, from the age of 5, students are taught to solve math problems. Data Sufficiency questions on the GMAT do not ask you to solve the math problem.

Nevertheless, my confidence in my math ability has improved. I approached each question with a hungry desire to master its logic. Furthermore, I realized that I made few mental mistakes while taking the practice quiz.

On Day Six, I experienced a reality check. I took Practice Test Two GMATPrep. I was hoping to score about 600. Unfortunately, my score was dramatically lower than my expectations. I only scored 550.

Day Five Countdown : GMAT Training -
Jun 27, 2009 - 10:50:43 AM
Day 5 confirmed nothing. I decided to complete Quantitative Questions 143 through 163 in the Official GMAT Guide. I missed 3 questions. Unfortunately, I struggled with three other questions that I did not miss. I did not bother to celebrate the hallow victory.

Day Two Countdown : GMAT Training -
Jun 23, 2009 - 3:40:01 PM
Day two was slow. I decided to take only one timed practice Math Test for the GMAT. I chose Data Sufficiency Test Two on Kaplan 2008 Premier Program CD. The test consisted of 20 multiple choice questions, and I was allowed 25 minutes to complete the test.
