It is not impossible to generate your own insurance leads. If you have experience with making websites using HTML or know of a good content management software, you will be that much closer to turning a website into a lead generation portal for your insurance business.
Some insurance agents do not buy online insurance leads. These individuals generate enough leads of their own, from their own websites. However, it probably took some time and a lot of hard work for these agents to generate a steady flow of insurance leads. It would not be uncommon for it to take at least six to ten months, unless they can afford to spend $500 to $1,000 per month on a recognized search engine, such as Google, Yahoo or MSN.
Your first step is to buy a web domain. There are several companies throughout the world wide web that specialize in cheap domains and web hosting. Remember that you should choose a web domain that is simple and says something about your insurance or financial practice. You might want to include your name or the name of your insurance agency in the domain‘s name (i.e. jasoncunninghaminsurance.com). Once you have the web domain and web hosting, it is time to create the website.
On the front page or homepage of your website, you will need to write a sales pitch for online visitors that come to your website. Ask yourself, why should anyone come to your insurance website over another one? I recommend that you visit other successful insurance agent’s websites, in order to get an idea of what customers want. However, do not cheat by copying someone else‘s website.
Also, it is important to visit the webmasters’ tool page for Google, MSN and Yahoo. If you do not follow their website optimization guidelines, then you might not reach high rankings in their search engines or never have your website listed. If you sale insurance or annuities in just one state, you might want to say that on the homepage, the contact page and the page created for generating insurance leads. Otherwise, you might be wasting your time and the time of the insurance prospect that will visit your website. In addition, your lead generation page should a have a well created form so that the insurance prospect can tell you how to contact them, when is the best time to call and what products and services are they interested in! These are all necessary ingredients for you to create a successful insurance lead generation website.
