Bad Credit Can Ruin Your Life
By: Financial Shopper Network
Bad credit is not good for your financial
stability. It can hurt you, because it may make you feel less responsible. It
can also cause you to lose your job and family.
Bad credit is a word none of us want to use
when referring to ourselves. It usually means that you have had problems paying
your bills or defaulted on a loan. You may feel alone, if this is your
situation, but there are many people in the same boat.
Sometimes it is hard starting a new career,
you may not make a lot of money, and could soon find yourself living
paycheck to paycheck. What are you to do? The bills do not go away. You
either pay them or end up with bad credit. You could ask your parents for the
money, but you will probably be sitting in the dark before this happens.
The day the collection calls begin is the
worst day in your life. You are so close to having bad credit, but you have not
reached the breaking point. When the phone company makes that call to your
employer, you may need to start looking for a new career. Your boss may
naturally start to think you are irresponsible, or have a drug habit, if
your bill collectors are calling him or her daily. That promotion you thought
you might had a chance for in six months may be at another company. Your place
of employment is not going to fire you, but your mistakes may hurt your chances
of steady employment.
Your family may leave you. Many studies have
shown that finances is a major reason people get divorced. Going home to
your spouse, and telling them you are about to be evicted, may not go over too
well. Before things get this bad see a credit counselor. Bad credit can hurt you
in the workplace and at home. You may end up doubting your own abilities and
your readiness for adulthood.
