The Cleveland Browns Should Whip the Detroit Lions

By: Jason Cunningham (10/21/2005)

This week's football game for the Cleveland Browns should be an easy one. Brown's coach Romeo Crennel is very fortunate to be playing such a sloppy team in the Detroit Lions. Cleveland was embarrassed last week by the Baltimore Ravens, however this could be the start of winning streak, come Sunday.

Do not let the 2-3 record of the Cleveland Browns fool you. This is a young team that is going in the right direction. Browns' QB Trent Dilfer should be throwing to WR Antonio Bryant at will, and RB Ruben Droughns will get 30 carries before he takes a seat. The Detroit Lions resemble a train wreck. QB Joey Harrington of the Lions seems to be resembling the passing skills of an NFL journeyman headed for premature retirement. In Joey's defense he has no one to throw the ball to on the football field. Lions' WR Carlos Rogers is still suspended for a failed drug test and who knows if WR Roy Williams will be able to play with a quad injury.

I expect the Browns to not only get to a .500 record this weekend, but to lay the Lions out. It would be good to see current Lions' backup QB and former Browns' starter Jeff Garcia get in the game. This would mean the Browns are taking care of business on the football field.
