Colts Need to Play For
Perfect Season!

You might have read an article a few weeks
ago on this website that stated the Indianapolis Colts probably will not have a
perfect season. Well the Colts are three victories away from proving me wrong. I
was only referring to the regular season; besides it will be tough to defeat
them in the NFL Playoffs, especially with home field advantage throughout the
postseason.
It would be disheartening for members of the team
and fans of the Indianapolis Colts, if Coach Tony Dungy decides to sit his
starters for any other reason than a secure win. This would be the equivalent of
the horse, Secretariat not running for the last leg of the Triple Crown.
Besides, when you have a chance to make history, it is important to seize the
moment. No team in NFL history has won 16 regular season games. I honestly
believe Dungy might agree with me. Now he might be more willing to pull a
starter if they get up slow, but so would I!
Thirty-three years ago, the 1972 Miami Dolphins
were the last NFL team to go undefeated throughout the entire season. The
Colts have to meet the San Diego Chargers tomorrow, a very dangerous team,
because they are coming off an embarrassing loss to the current Miami Dolphins,
who might still lose to the 1972 team, even if some of their players are 60
years old. (Just kidding!)
It would be sweet justice for Coach Tony Dungy if
the Colts win every game this season, including Superbowl XL. Remember four year
ago, Dungy was booted out of Tampa Bay, and that team won the Superbowl
the next year. All of his hard work and dedication to the Buccaneers'
organization, however no Championship Ring of his own. I hope the Colts
can keep winning, yet it will be tougher for the rest of the season, given that
every team wants to play spoiler.
