John: It is important that debates in government focus on the
actual needs of those in this Moral Society.
Jason: What about the thoughts of the people? The loudest voice
in the Senate, may not be in touch with the majority in this society.
John: You are quietly saying that many are not truly represented
by those who were elected to serve them.
Jason: Precisely, this is what needs to be debated, not who has
a clear message for the nation.
John: Remember, debating for the sake of debating is similar to
mice scratching food they do not want.
Jason: All I am saying is that there needs to be a way for those
with no money to be heard.
John: Are you suggesting a government position solely
representing to poor?
Jason: Actually a check and balance, in regards to how much
money politicians can take from organizations and individuals. This would level
the playing field, somewhat.
John: Getting back to the original point, what can we do to
address the needs of all people?
Jason: First thing we must do is ask the people what they want
through surveys both online and in person. To make things more equitable, we
must sample a true representation of the people: poor, rich, women, minority,
etc.
John: I agree, now it appears we are finally making some
progress. A list of concerns may come to mind, whether better textbooks in
school or more fire hydrants. Still a careful investigation may enrich us and
help us root out some of the Republic's problems.
