Don't Fall to Pressure Sales
By: Jason Cunningham
We will all at sometime in our life, be
pressured into buying something. If it has not happened yet, just keep living.
Whether you are purchasing a vacuum cleaner, choosing a home, or travel plans,
eventually someone will use pressure sales tactics in order to get our money.
When I started this website just over a year
ago, I knew very little. The sharks were able to smell new blood in the water. I
received a call from one individual stating, " that if I didn't buy insurance
keywords from him, I'll never produce any website traffic." Another person tried
to shame me into thinking his products were the best on earth, talking very
fast, and "if I failed to act now, I'll lose at least $2,000 a month income."
Luckily I did not fall for any of these traps. The first individual was actually
stupid enough to tell me the name of the individual who last purchased his
product. So I went to the person's website, called them, and found out that the
man was lying. Then, I went to Alexa's website and did a search rank on the shady
characters' website; their Alexa rank at that time was over 1 million. In the second
case, I checked the web for information about this person and the company
represented. The reputation of the individual was not pleasing.
Sometimes we may do all of our research and
still fall for the pressure sales. However here are some things to consider:
If a person is hostile towards you, you probably should move on. Ask would it be
okay to check with the Better Business Bureau first. (Some people are not a
member of the BBB, maybe they have not been in business long enough. Yet if
they are agitated about this, they are hiding something. Always be patient, most
of the time you do not have to buy it today.
