Tony Dungy: Something to
Prove
By: Jason Cunningham

Entering his fourth season as the
coach of the Indianapolis Colts, the pressure has to be on Tony Dungy to get his
team to the Superbowl. His top offensive players, QB Peyton Manning and WR
Marvin Harrison are not getting any younger. Also, RB Edgerrin James, who may
not report to training camp, because he is currently holding out.
The window of opportunity is running out on Coach
Tony Dungy. He was forced out of Tampa Bay in 2002, when the Buccaneers failed
to reach the Superbowl. A year later without Dungy, the Buccaneers won the
Superbowl. Now, Dungy is responsible for much of the success the Colts have
experienced over the last three seasons. Tony Dungy needs a Superbowl win
right now, so he can stay in Indianapolis as long as he wishes.
Dungy's Colts have had problems in the playoffs, in
recent years versus the New England Patriots. However, the Patriots have lost
two coordinators in the off-season, and Teddy Bruschi for the year due to a
stroke. Since the Patriots are vulnerable, the Indianapolis Colts should rise to
the occasion.
