Fantasy Football Obsession
By: Jason Cunningham
Every Sunday morning and
evening, many are not ashamed to say that fantasy football gets most of their
attention. The computers stays on all day for updates on injuries, previews, and
then the game scores.
To those who do not participate in fantasy football, this may
seem to be an activity of silly young and old men and some women who try to live
vicariously through the players on the field. For those who play, this is an
obsession, getting your football team ready, by having just the right lineup
against your opponents.
Anybody thinks fantasy football is a fad, has no clue of the
bond created amongst friends competing against one another. I have competed in
fantasy games since 1997, and I look forward to every moment of it. From the
trash talk, trade talks, ad waiver request, this is the closest I will get to
the football field again.
Sorry if your love one is stuck in front of the television on
Sunday or watching the NFL's Monday Night Football. At best, fantasy
football is barely in its infancy, and will probably become a culture icon such
as a cell phone in no time.
