Finding Middle Ground
Poem by: Jason Cunningham
The liberals and the religious ones are
similar to two turkeys fighting over who will make it to the Thanksgiving Dinner
table. Behind every educational scholar is a theory at bat ready to be struck
out by the religious ace. On the other hand, remember the subliminal music of
1980's, that got laughed out of court for the proof definitely was not in the
pudding. It is hard finding middle ground when the two sides think they are
estranged siblings.
Freedom of speech extends further than your
protests, and baptism in the park is no more unconstitutional than trying to
speaking for the preservation of turtles in the Everglades. Attacks on religion
are as obvious as the debate against The Passion of Christ. Watched it
twice as a critic, and had to give the movie two thumbs up. Just some need to be
honest, you are afraid they are going to take the opportunity to oppress us with
their religiosity. If state sponsored organized religion was allowed, some of
them think things would get better, but still finding middle ground is as
slippery as newly made ice. Heard that people were trying to find holiness from
the movie. You cannot speak for everyone, some of the comrades heard it was very
violent, and they cannot get enough of that sort of movie genre.
Regardless of the animosity, finding middle
ground is needed for the foundation to survive. Otherwise are we going to always
be puppets waiting for the puppeteer to pull the strings. Let us be friends,
while respecting science, free speech, and religion at the same time. All three
elements can exist at the same time, or the alternative is a chaotic society
that is hogging up the justice system with right versus left wing rhetoric.
