God is Not
Punishing us with Hurricanes
By: Jason Cunningham (10/24/2005)
In my opinion, it is truly
unbelievable that some individuals believe God is punishing the southern coastal
line of the United States. Could it not be possible that God is just making sure
that the world functions in a proper way? If the sins of the people cause
natural disasters such Hurricane Katrina or Wilma, would we not all be swallowed
up by the winds and rains that God controls?
I believe it is a disservice to claim
you know the will of God! It is even more ludicrous when it is concerning a
natural disaster. The earth is a living organism just like any of us. So it is
not impossible that storms, hurricanes, earthquakes, tornados, etc., occur as
result of the world being maintenance or has a "cold." It is very irresponsible
to blame the victims of these natural occurrences in nature. If God used storms
to punish us, then none of may be around, for none of us are without sin.
Yes, the United States has endured
constant hurricanes this year. However victims, in my opinion did not bring
these storms on themselves. Since the beginning of time, the world has endured
many storms and earthquakes, so this year may or not maybe an a strange
occurrence in history. None of us should be bold enough to let what we believe
"the wrath of God" might be.
