Houston Texans vs. The San
Francisco 49ers: The Bush Sweepstakes!
By: Jason Cunningham (12/31/2005)
It is quite simple for the Houston
Texans tomorrow, if they lose, they obtain the rights to draft USC's RB Reggie
Bush. Otherwise we all need to take a nap before discussing all of the possible
scenarios that could occur, which would send Bush to one four teams, including
the San Francisco 49ers, the NY Jets, the New Orleans Saints, or the Green Bay
Packers.
Look everyone wants to go through every
scenario, because who knows what will happen tomorrow? Then again the
chances of the San Francisco 49ers getting the pick is almost nil. They need all
of the teams listed above to win and a bunch of other teams to win and some to
lose. So forget I even mentioned the 49ers. The Jets need to lose to the Buffalo
Bills; hope for a win by the Houston Texans, a win by the New Orleans
Saints, or if the Saints opponents finish with a better win percentage than
those of the NY Jets. That was a true tongue twister. The New Orleans Saints and
Green Bay Packers need to lose if they want to participate in the Reggie Bush's
sweepstakes. Remember if teams are tied then the pick will go to the team with
the weakest strength of schedule, so head to head matches are irrelevant.
I hope the Houston Texans just lose
tomorrow. It would make all our lives much easier, and your fans will be
celebrating after the loss. Reggie Bush is the most coveted draft pick since
Oklahoma State University and NFL Hall of Famer Barry Sanders. If the
Texans win, the pick will be probably go to the New Orleans but that is only a
guess!
