The Indianapolis Colts Should
Make the Superbowl
By: Jason Cunningham (11/21/2005)
I know the Indianapolis Colts have
only played 10 games this season, however, it is not too early to consider them
the early favorite to be the AFC representative in this season's Superbowl. The
Colts are still undefeated and could remain that way if they do not have a let
down. This team is far superior to anything I could have dreamed of before the
start of the season.
When the Indianapolis did not win a
game in the NFL Preseason, some were quick to write them off. I stated in my NFL
Preview that Colts Coach Tony Dungy would win the Coach of the Year Award and
the team would go deep in the playoffs. They may have started the season slow on
offense, but it is now evident that even that is now running on all cylinders.
At this point in the season, I do not see any team in the league that stop them.
I did not expect the Indianapolis Colts
to start 10-0. Honestly, if they had started 8-2, this would have met my
original expectation. This team is far better defensively than I could have
hoped for, especially against the run. This team would be a disappointment if
they do not make the Superbowl. They have superior players at all positions on
the field. I have never seen a team in the NFL that should not lose a game in a
season until now.
