King James and the
Cavs Advance
By: Jason Cunningham (4/30/2006)
Last night, the Cleveland
Cavaliers did something the franchise had not accomplished since 1993; they won
a NBA Playoffs series. In game six, the Cavs were fortunate to get the win, and
now will move on to play the Detroit Pistons. However, the Cavs should celebrate
their epic series against the Washington Wizards.
Nobody can deny that Lebron
James has put basketball in Cleveland on the map. The 113-112 victory over the
Wizards is just the beginning of Lebron's legacy. In the series, Lebron was
willing to take the game over as he glided the team to victory in game 5 or kept
the them close in game 6. In the end, Cavalier's Damon Jones 17 foot jumper with
4.8 seconds in the game carried the team to victory.
The Pistons should not take
these young Cavs for granted. Lebron and his merry-men are ready for the
challenge, even if talent and experience wise; the edge has to go to the Detroit
Pistons.
