Now the Los Angeles Lakers is Kobe Bryant's team. There is no Phil Jackson or Shaq O'Neil for him to vent about, when things do not go his way. This is going to be great learning experience for Kobe to learn about himself.

Kobe is often protrayed in the media as selfish and self-centered. Here is his chance to become the great team player, the truly missing element in his current game, since he arrived in the NBA. Kobe does not have to share the spotlight with any other basketball superstars on his team, as he laces up his shoes this fall and next spring.

This season, Kobe will realize that not having Shaq will provide him a front row seat in front of his own TV during the 2004 - 2005 NBA Playoffs. Even Jordan needed Pippen to deliver him those 6 NBA Championships, and Kobe had an opportunity to win more than that great tandem. Shaq was in his prime as they won three, yet history will have to conclude they could have won more together. Be careful what you wish for in this short basketball career.
