LeBron James: Is he just Hype?
By: Jason Cunningham
The Cleveland Cavaliers Rookie, LeBron James
has been appointed the "Chosen One." Since his days at Akron St. Vincent-St Mary
of Ohio, James has showed his basketball promise even as a freshman in high
school. Beyond the Nike
Deal, and the various other endorsements, will Lebron live up to the hype in Cleveland and
bring a championship to the city starving for one?
Lebron James has gained show much attention,
because he already seems to be the complete player. Do not expect him to score 20 points
a night, his rookie season, but he has the quickness and intelligence that a
floor general possesses. James has that "eye of the tiger" approach, while he plays
basketball, a trait rarely seen in athletes except the elite of the bunch. The
Michael Jordan's and Tiger Wood's of the worlds are good examples of these elite
players of the game.
People who think Lebron James will not live
up to the hype will be proven wrong. He is a basketball legend in the making.
Players like Garnett and Kobe Bryant have successfully made that jump from high
school to the pros, Lebron will do the same. Forget the endorsements and the
awards shows he attends, the first moment we saw him play as a freshman at Akron St.
Vincent-St Mary, silenced cascaded from above. He will lead Cleveland back to
true playoff contention in two years as long as they keep the rest of the team
together.
