LenDale White really
Hurt His Draft Position
By: Jason Cunningham (4/29/2006)
Usually when character issues
surface before the NFL Draft, you can expect to be picked later than expected.
USC's LenDale White
allegedly failed a drug test. He also did not have a stellar workout at the NFL
Combine.
White played in the shadow of fellow teammate, Reggie
Bush. However, LenDale proved as a college football player that he was no chump.
In his junior year, White averaged 6.6 yards every time he ran the football.
Show me how many players have those type of statistics?
Unfortunately, LenDale White did not perform well at the
NFL Combine. At this present moment, he benched less reps at 225 lbs than I can.
He also looked to be a little out of shape, and that rumor about him failing a
drug test. I did not see a weight issue from my TV set.
Still, if White produces as he did at USC, many NFL GMs will be
hitting themselves. I think White can be used like San Diego's Lorenzo White. He
will get his chance with the Tennessee Titans and be united with his former USC
offensive coordinator Norm Chow.
