Life is Hard to Understand
By: Jason Cunningham (1/24/2006)
Life is our only true
measurement of existence. Some of us look at life as the great rat race.
At times, life appears to a confusing maze that we must solve.
Why are here on earth? Many will
argue that we were born to serve God. To me, that answer is not sufficient. Life
has to more complex than that supposed revelation. We could have inhabited
another planet such as Mars or Jupiter! So, we must look to a define our own
purpose in life. It can involve a religious life, one of leisure, or a journey
in philosophy.
I often compare life to a unknown
journey. It is our job to solve many riddles and leave the world in a better
place. We must discover how our feelings and emotions makes us whole as
individuals. Our past can help shape our lives, but we must be resilient to
avoid depression and worry caused by certain events. Positive thinking often
leads to discovery of new ideas and solutions to global, local, or inner
personal conflict.
Why is life hard to understand? There
are many societal pressures that we must overcome. Often, society attempts to
define roles for men and women and the young and old. We also have relationships
with one another. Some relationships are strictly platonic, however others
develop into romantic love. Our interactions with one another can be rewarding
and confusing at the same time. We wonder why our paths have brought us
together! Life does not usually gives us all of the answers. The emotions we
feel can get in the way of using our best judgment. Yet it is our job to weave
through the mess and bring action to all of life's chaos.
Life is a complex experience The time
we spend here is a measurement of time few will ever understand. Life is often
taken for granted, because we are not aware of any other existence before our
birth. Learn to cherish one another, and be a friend to those who need
help that come into your life. Life is a purpose driven experience and I must
follow my own advice.
