Maurice Clarett is Cut By the
Denver Broncos
By: Jason Cunningham (8/30/2005)
It was a sad day for Maurice Clarett
fans. He now knows the feeling of being cut by an NFL team. Today the Denver
Broncos who drafted Clarett in the third round of this year's Draft parted ways
with the rookie running back formerly of the Ohio State University Buckeyes.
The Broncos choose Clarett as a back
with unlimited potential. Even though he has not played in two seasons, remember
as a freshman, Maurice led his Ohio State University Buckeyes to the College
National Championship. It seems now that if Clarett had been allowed to be
drafted a season earlier the result might still be the same. He is a long way
from his playing days at OSU. It is likely that Clarett will receive tryouts
with other teams before the NFL season starts, but this might be his last shot
at remaining in professional football.
The critics may now raise their heads. Many
thought the Broncos wasted a pick on Clarett and right now they are appear
to be prophetic. Let us not rush to judgment, because Maurice could still become
a productive back in the NFL.
