Mike Tyson is Finished

By: Jason Cunningham (6/14/2005)

Every athlete including yours truly, had to realize that it was over. Mike Tyson found himself in that position Saturday evening when he fought journeyman boxer, Kevin McBride. Poor Mike did not answer the bell in the seven round and lost by TKO.

Tyson's pay per view power was gone into the red. The next time I see Mike Tyson on pay TV; it may be a WWE pay per view show. The man once know as Iron Mike, who put fear in the hearts of those in the boxing world, has been reduced as an old man with big muscles. He should stay retired from boxing, unless he wants to really get  hurt. It is truly a shame how Tyson's last match ended.

Overall, Mike Tyson probably would like us to remember him in his prime when he bulldozed into his opponents and knocked them silly. He was one of the quickest of all time, before he ran into his first defeat, at the hands of Buster Douglas in Tokyo. No boxer in history except for Ali was able to capture us with his relentless rants like Tyson. However at the end of the day, people will wonder about what Mike Tyson should have accomplished in his boxing career, when you consider his talent and ability from the very beginning.
