No Cold for the Colts In the
NFL Playoffs
By: Jason Cunningham (12/17/2005)
The Indianapolis Colts will not have
to play in the cold during this year's NFL Playoffs. The 13-0 record of the
Colts has allowed them to secured home field advantage throughout the playoffs,
and if they make it the Superbowl, it is about a five hour drive to Detroit, MI.
While the Indianapolis Colts are still
trying to be the first team in NFL history to go 16-0, in the regular season,
their first goal has already been accomplished. The Achilles heel of the Colts'
team has been going on the road during recent playoff history. In the past, some
believe the Colts were harmed by the cold of Foxboro, Massachusetts. Those pesky
New England Patriots seem to have the Indianapolis Colts' playoff number. Now
that the team from Indianapolis has clinched a playoff berth and the right to
play through the AFC at home, weather will not be an obstacle.
The Colts definitely have an advantage
when playing inside the RCA Dome. There is no wind, rain, or snow to disrupt a
game played in Indianapolis' dome stadium. The defense and offense of the Colts
are extremely fast, therefore turf is king. It will be tough to beat them in the
playoffs, but then again, no one has beat them this season! So, Colts' QB
Peyton Manning and the rest of the squad will not have to worry about travel
arrangements during the playoffs, except maybe a plane trip to Detroit via the
airport in Romulus, MI.
