It was officially announced today that Phil Jackson is back as coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. He signed a three year contract. The Lakers failed to make the playoffs this past season in his coaching absence. This will be Phil Jackson's opportunity to win his tenth NBA Championship as a coach, and fourth with the Lakers.

We will see if Jackson and superstar Kobe Bryant can co-exist. They appeared to have rock relationship on the court, but maybe a season of losing will make Bryant little more humble and offered him time to grow. Phil will have to rely on Kobe to be a key leader on the team, especially after watching the debacle this past season. However regardless of what happens, it is good to have the Zen Master back on the sidelines.
