The Philadelphia Eagles Are in
Trouble
By: Jason Cunningham (8/13/2005)
The Philadelphia Eagles might need their head coach
Any Reid to push the panic button. It appears the Eagles' organization and star
WR Terrell Owens are at odds, and the relationship may never be mended. While
the Eagles made it to the Superbowl with TO injured, there is no question their
regular season would have included a couple of more losses without him.
Who will QB Donovan McNabb throw to? McNabb's second
option Todd Pinkston ruptured his Achilles tendon in preseason and Freddy
Mitchell is no longer with the team. It is a question that Andy Reid must answer
before the season opener. Either Terrell Owens appears to be on his way out of
Philadelphia, or will have his role diminished. I cannot see why the team will
continue to allow him to speak to media without fining him, when his speech is
detrimental to the team! Terrell Owens has become a distraction, but how do the
Eagles overcome his public outcry over his salary, and get back to the
Superbowl? They won't make it, and probably have to be a Wild-Card team to sneak
into the NFC playoffs.
The once mighty Philadelphia Eagles will publicly
state that Terrell Owens situation has no effect on the team. Yes they are
professions, but they are human beings trying to reach a common goal, and Owens
has to realize why the organization is upset with him. TO is not keeping the
family business in house.
