Jason: How do we attempt to protect our citizens from those who
violate our laws?
John: That is a very general question, be more specific?
Jason: What militant or police protection will people have in
the Republic?
John: At the government level we will provide money based on a
head count of the citizens within the cities. While, it is important to
understand that cities must bare the brunt of the cost after three years. I am
sure parking and traffic tickets are to be written, as well as other fines that
will defray some of the costs, while public grants and taxation should
help bring in the necessary funds.
Jason: It sounds good, however who will decide how they are
trained, should a guideline be made by the governing body, or is this a state
issue?
John: The matter should be referred to the governing body for
two reasons. We should have a clear and concise manual of instruction of how to
arrest, rights during interrogation, profiling, and imprisonment versus false
imprisonment, etc. Also, this should serve to seen by all as a way of protecting
our citizens, no matter if they are in law enforcement or are a part of an
investigation.
Jason: You never yield in reason, that is sufficient for right
now. We will revisit the subject of protecting our citizens in greater
detail, later on.
