Today the Detroit Lion's organization fired former coach, Steve Mariucci. The man did not make it through his third season of coaching this team. I just do not think that Mariucci is the reason the Lions are 4-7.

Who decided to draft three wide receivers in the last three seasons. Oh yeah, the Lions really have a stellar defense or before Mariucci became the coach, QB Joey Harrington was drafted, and he has yet to achieve a QB rating of 80 for a season. This is not to say that Mariucci did not make coaching mistakes, for even Colts' Coach Tony Dungy makes tactical mistakes.

I wonder who CEO and President of the Lions, Matt Millen will blame next. Maybe it actually be himself, given he has managed the worst team over the last five years. Why did Mariucci lose his job in the middle of the season? It is not as if the Detroit Lions will win their last five games of the season! Let's face it, Mariucci was the fall guy for a sorry excuse for a NFL franchise.
