I Apologize to Boxer Antonio Tarver
By: Jason Cunningham
May 16, 2004
I must admit, I said boxer, Antonio Tarver
would get knocked by Roy Jones, Jr. in the second round. Well Mr. Tarver proved
me to be a liar, by knocking out Roy Jones, Jr., the fight officially ended at
1:41 in the second round. This is Jones only true loss of his career, the other
loss suffered was the result of a disqualification.
I apologize to you Mr. Antonio Tarver. The
former bronze medalist in the 1996 Summer Olympics made short work of Jones with
a shot to the chin. Jones was able to get up, however his dazed eyes to call the
fight. You have to give Tarver his proper respect for the fight and taking
Jones' light heavyweight championship belt.
Not taking anything from away from Mr.
Tarver, Jones might have aged from fighting Heavyweight John Ruiz. Roy's next
fight will tell the answer to that question, because this fight was over in a
flash. Congratulation to you Antonio; this is your moment in sun.
