Thoughts on Tiger's
British Open Win
By: Jason Cunningham (7/18/2005)
The 2005 British Open was highlighted by the passing
of the torch. Jack Nicholas bowed out of his final British Open tournament, and
left the golf world safely in the hands of Tiger Woods.
Not only did Woods, golf's present and future accept
homage from the "Golden Bear" Nicholas, but went out and won his second British
Open. Tiger outpaced the field by 5 strokes. Now Woods has 10 Major victories,
and stands just 8 from tying Jack Nicholas' record of 18.
While many experts did not expect Tiger to win at
St. Andrews, he proved the TV and radio analyst wrong. If there was any doubt
about him being the greatest golfer of today, then you significant evidence to
prove he deserves the crown.
