Two Hurtful Losses for the Minnesota Vikings
Article by: Jason Cunningham (11/15/2004)
For the second game in a row, the Minnesota
Vikings have found themselves on life support in the fourth quarter. Yesterday
against the Green Bay Packers, the Vikings football team led by quarterback
Daunte Culpepper tied the game after driving his unit for the straight
touchdowns. Yet for the second football game in a row, the Vikings lose 34-31,
because of a game winning field goal by Ryan Longwell of the Green Bay
Packers.
In the previous game, November 8, 2004, Culpepper and the
Minnesota Vikings saw their comeback attempts thwarted by a Mike Vanderjagt's
field goal of the Indianapolis Colts with two seconds remaining in the football
game. The final score was 31-28.
Obviously not having wide receiver Randy Moss has hurt Minnesota
in recent weeks. However it is also the defense that has let them down, in
regards to giving the offense a chance to win in overtime. The team will have to
get it together soon if they are serious about making and doing well in the NFL
playoffs.
