USC's Reggie Bush Did Not Hurt His Draft Status!

By: Jason Cunningham (1/6/2005)

Yes, I believe USC's Reggie Bush played not to get hurt in Wednesday's National Championship Game loss versus the Texas Longhorns. I will not hold it against him and neither will the Houston Texans, who will draft them. He is the best NFL prospect available in the draft.

In Bush's defense, he spent a lot of time on the sideline during the Wednesday's night game. He really never got into a good rhythm. Bush had a few spectacular moments including a thunderous, 26 yard touchdown run.  It would have been a good game by other individual's standard, but we are talking about running back Reggie Bush.

People may be going crazy over the rose Bowl hero, Texas' quarterback Vince Young; however, it will still be Bush' s name read as the number one overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. USC's quarterback Matt Leinart was the only major play in the National Championship Game, whose stock was hurt in the game.

Reggie Bush mania is not about to die. It may have suffered a little after the devastating loss, but it will be in full force by the time of the NFL Draft. He is supposed to become the "Chosen One" of the NFL. Time will tell whether he lives up to the hype.
