USC Reggie Bush should Have
Won the Heisman by More Votes!
By: Jason Cunningham (12/11/2005)
While some may say that the 85% of the
first place votes USC's RB Reggie Bush received on his way to winning this
year's Heisman Trophy was lot, I disagree. The voting
should not have been that close. I watched college football this season, and did
not see one player that played at the same level as Reggie Bush, not even his
teammate QB Matt Leinart.
It was amazing to watch Reggie Bush
run, catch, and even pass the ball this college football season. I do not think
there is much the man can't do on the football field. He is a master of
elusiveness and one the smartest football players in the last 15 years. Whenever
his team needed a key block or a long run, Bush was able to make a play, whether
it be in close games against Norte Dame University or Fresno State University,
or in the blowout of UCLA.
The margin of victory Bush enjoyed is
probably the largest ever, but there was no one else playing college football at
his level. It can be argued that this was the single greatest season that anyone
has ever had in the modern college football era. He was beyond spectacular and
Reggie Bush will be the first pick in this year's NFL Draft, if he forgoes his
senior year.
