When The
Relationship is Over
By Jason Cunningham (3/24/05)
Sometimes
individuals are happy when a dating relationship is over, while other times this
may not be case. However before this occurs, at least one of the parties
involved, must recognize that the end of the relationship is needed to pursue
other endeavors.
People who
usually do not want the relationship to end, often claim that they did not see it
coming. The real problem is their unwavering belief in being in love, or being
with a desirable person that everyone else wants. In lieu of this, we must learn
not to put on blinders on, in any dating relationship. Therefore let us look
at some early warning signs that your relationship may be on the rocks:
1. He or she
starts to hang out with their friends more and more, while leaving you at home.
If your dating partner begins to operate in this manner, and this a new
change, start to be on alert.
2.
You have to beg for a hug or kiss. This is the mother or father of all
that should tell you the party is over. I never recommend tearing up pictures or
memories, but you might want to see your way out of the door before it hits you.
3. There is a
significant decrease in conversation. As good communication is to a
great dating relationship, the absence of it, proves to cause an early demise.
You can disguise it under your workload or some other activity, yet no
conversation equals no relationship.
4. My
feelings have changed speech. Get on your horse and run. This in English
means "I have moved on with my life." Sometimes you can call someone your
boyfriend or girlfriend, but in reality you are nothing more than a meal ticket,
an emotional support center, or substitute until you learn to handle the truth,
"it's over."
