Why I am Avoiding Drafting T.O. For Fantasy
Football!
By: Jason Cunningham (8/17/2006)
Not long ago, Terrell Owens of the
Dallas Cowboys was one of the coveted picks in Fantasy Football. However, his
dismissal from the Philadelphia Eagles, last season, has me and others looking
past Owens. While his production in Dallas will probably be high, it is hard to
imagine that Terrell Owens can be happy under Coach Bill Parcells run-happy
offense.
Sooner or later, Parcells and
Owens are going to be feuding. In two other NFL stops, San Francisco and
Philadelphia, Terrell Owens has been asked to leave town. I am not saying that
Owens is totally at fault. He is a great competitor. Nevertheless, T.O. appears
on a path of becoming the Dennis Rodman of football.
I just cannot draft Terrell
Owens. You already know that the idea is tempting. With my luck, Owens might get
suspended for a month or so. He is going to have a great season in Dallas. I
wish him the best, but Coach Bill Parcells is just as volatile as him. It
does not seem possible that Parcells' grind it out offense will allow Owens to
catch a 100 receptions this season. This is going to be far from a match made in
heaven. I just hope no charges are brought against either man.
