Why Legalized Abortion Will
Stay on the Books!

People often to refer to the Supreme
Court as a "liberal court." I look at this statement as being troubling.
The current Court only has two members that were appointed by Democrats,
Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen G Breyer. In fact, there has not been
three Democratic Presidents since the retirement of the late, Justice Bryon "Whizzer"
White in 1993. I would not exactly call his voting record as liberal, and he
dissented in Roe vs. Wade.
As long as you have a welfare system in
American, the right to have an abortion will remain safe. I am not saying or
implying that people on welfare have more abortions, but the system can be
excused as a convenient excuse. Actually, the number reason for an abortion is
to delay child bearing. On one hand, the state of such and such benefits
from all of the doctor's taxable fees from performed abortions. You also have to
be concerned since the woman is wishing to have an abortion. How well are they
going to carry an unwanted pregnancy, in cases where there is no risk to the
mother? It is already hard enough for social services to find homes and monitor
foster children who were taken from their natural parents or given up for
adoption. Right or wrong, unwanted children are the sad reality of today.
In this country, it amazing me that
people get excited when a criminal is being executed. Especially, when you
consider, there is huge number of people in this country who claim
to be pro-life. However, some will go as far as wishing the murderer had not
been born. The trickery is in their own response. There are only two ways for
this individual not to have been born; a still birth or an abortion.
The Supreme Court is comprised of nine
members, including a Chief Justice. They have the privilege of ruling on "live
cases and controversies." There has to be some measurable economic, mental, or
physical damages. It would be easier to overturn certain aspects of abortion;
for example, the legal length of time during pregnancy or spousal consent. It
almost seems impossible, in my mind where someone could bring an abortion case
and the Supreme Court overturns Roe vs. Wade. Even if the Supreme is
completely Republican, the chances of the landmark cases being overturned in my
lifetime is slim or none.
