Why Notre Dame and OSU will play in the 2006 NCAA Football Championship!
By: Jason Cunningham (8/26/2006)
I know that NCAA Football will start in
less than a week. However, it is not too early to start talking about the 2006
BCS National Championship Game, which will be the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. I
predict the Ohio State Buckeyes and University of Notre Dame University Fighting
Irish will be playing.
Last year, the game was not for the
National Championship, but it featured the two football powerhouses, who I
believe will play this season's BCS National Championship. The Buckeyes won the
game 34-24. This season, the Ohio State Buckeyes may have lost nine
starters on defense and one of their great receivers in Santonio Holmes to the
NFL. Yet, the offense led by quarterback Troy Smith and wide receivers Ted Ginn
Jr. and Anthony Gonzalez should not miss a step. Also, there is no need to worry
about the Buckeyes defense, because they lose players to the NFL every year.
The University of Notre Dame University
Fighting Irish are led by their Coach Charlie Weis and that other Heisman
hopeful at quarterback, Brady Quinn. While the Buckeyes and The Fighting Irish
will have similar paths to Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, in that they both have four
common opponents: University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Purdue
University, and Penn State University; the game will again be lopsided and the
Buckeyes will walk away with this year's National Champion.
In my opinion, Ohio State University
Buckeyes dusted the University of Notre Dame University Fighting Irish last
year, because they were a better team. Things have not changed, in spite of the
Buckeyes losing so many starters. So, maybe next year will be the year of the
University of Notre Dame University Fighting Irish.
