Why Peerless Price Didn't Make
it In Atlanta!
By: Jason Cunningham (8/31/2005)
Former Atlanta wide receiver Peerless
Price was released today. A few years ago he was brought in to revitalize the
Falcons by being a big play threat. Price potential never materialized because
he just is not a number one wide out at the NFL level.
In college at the University of
Tennessee, Peerless Price appeared to be bigger than life, in comparison to his
height of 5 feet, 9 inches. Yet as time has passed by we have realized that his
college quarterback Peyton Manning was the real deal not only at Tennessee but
also in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts. In the pros, Price enjoyed
success with the Buffalo Bills because of his prolific wide receiver teammate,
Eric Moulds. In all, Peerless Price made the mistake of thinking he was a number
one receiver in the NFL. He is a good player, but the amount of money Atlanta
paid to him did not justify his production, therefore they cut him. Price will
rebound.
