Why Texas' Vince
Young Is a Worthy Pick!
By: Jason Cunningham (4/22/2006)
We are now one week from the
2006 NFL Draft. People are still talking about which of the top three
quarterbacks should be chosen. While the hype until Draft day continues, Texas'
quarterback is the most intriguing passer available among the class of 2006.
I know it seems like ancient
history; however, it was Texas led by Vince Young and not USC's quarterback Matt
Leinart that won the NCAA Division - 1A Football Championship. Not only does
Young have the speed of a big receiver, but he has an amazing arm that is
perfect for the NFL. Yes, Young's touch at time may be questionable; yet he
appears to be a good learner on the football field.
Vince Young will be better than
Atlanta Falcon's Michael Vick. There is a certain leadership quality in Young
that most NFL quarterback seem to lack. Depending on what team picks Young, he
should be able to start by mid-season. A lot of individuals see Young as a run
first quarterback, however he reminds me of NFL great Randall Cunningham. Young
will definitely do well in the NFL.
