Why The Colts Should
Resign Edgerrin James?
By: Jason Cunningham (2/14/2006)
The Indianapolis Colts have
a tough decision ahead of them. It is time for the Colts to decide whether to
resign Pro Bowl running back Edgerrin James. If they do have James on the team
in the fall; in my opinion, James and the Colts will regret the decision.
In just seven seasons in the
NFL, James less is than eight hundred yards from 10,000 yards for his career. He
has also proven to be one of the best receivers out of the backfield. Teams do
not just prepare for the Indianapolis Colts passing attack, and the running
style of Edgerrin James is the main reason.
The Colts do not have another
running back that blocks as well as James. Nor do they have a back who
catches the football like Edgerrin. The Colts will need to draft a running back
if they intend not to resign James.
Edgerrin James is a future
ballot Hall of Famer if he spends the rest of his career in Indianapolis.
Sometimes the grass is not greener on the other side. However, do not take
anything from him, he is a great player. There is no guarantee he will not have
to share more carries if traded or signs with another team.
