Why the Indianapolis Colts Probably Won't Go Undefeated!

By: Jason Cunningham (11/28/2005)

There is only a slight chance that the 2005 Indianapolis Colts will go undefeated. You probably think It is hard to live in the Indianapolis area and the utter such blasphemy. To be honest, I just do not feel with a 16 week schedule that any team can go undefeated.

The 2005 Indianapolis Colts is probably the best regular season team I have seen in my lifetime. Yes,  I am saying the 1984 San Francisco 49ers nor the 1985 Chicago Bears were not better, however they did eventually won the their respective Superbowl. The Colts have yet to capture this season's most coveted trophy, but then again it is only November.

It is so hard to go undefeated through a NFL season that it has not been done since the 1972 Miami Dolphins. Those Dolphins did not have a 16 game non-playoff schedule just 14 games.  Yet you still have to respect the record, because those are all of the games they were required to play. The Colts have a long road to win 6 more straight games in six weeks. As this article is being written, it appears certain that the Indianapolis team will defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While the Indianapolis Cots have a dominating offense and terrorizing defense, it seems not plausible for them to finish the regular season undefeated. Yes their team is suitable to go undefeated and the best in my life that has not won the Superbowl, I cannot be certain that 16-0 will be their record of the 2005 Colts. Only time will tell if my prediction is correct.
