James Woods Story

The Online Movie Script by: Jason Barlow Cunningham

James Woods enters Jacobs, Levine, and Smith early as usual. He is consciously thinks about his future with the firm. Woods' five year anniversary in within a week, he will be promoted to senior accountant or fired.

Caroline: (secretary) Good morning Mr. Woods. (she is a very shy liberal from Massachusetts)

James Woods: Hello Caroline. (Woods has a habit at smiling at all women)

Caroline: Mr. Smith wants to see you immediately Woods. I mean Mr. Woods.

James Woods: At ease....(he walks away and nervously knocks on Mr. Smiths' door)

Mr. Stephen Smith is the only African-American partner at the firm, and is the most conservative  man alive. He once turned down Harvard University as an undergraduate because he learned he got in due to affirmative action.

    Mr. Smith: Come in James

James Woods enters with a look of confusion on his face.

James Woods: Mr. Smith how did you know it was me?

Mr. Smith (intense as usual) : Have a seat Woods. Should I have been expecting someone else. Very well. Your fifth anniversary is coming up, you nervous?

James Woods: To be honest, quite nervous about my situation.

Mr. Smith: Let me give you some advice, the truth should be used arbitrary, or when it is necessary. You'll need to abide by this advice when you are named senior accountant next Friday. No need to thank me. I must admit when I reviewed your transcripts from Bradley, I never dreamed we would be having this conversation.

James Woods: Thank you sir and I won't disappoint.

Mr. Smith: I hope not for all of our sake. Seize power for yourself that's how you make it in this life, Woods. I mean that (saying it firmly as Woods walks towards the door). You are dismissed.
